Meet the United Macedonian Diaspora’s 2013 Summer Fellows

The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) is pleased to introduce our current International Policy and Diplomacy Fellows working from the UMD office in Washington, D.C. this summer: Harrison B. Hull and Brenna Sovine.

The UMD Fellowship Program is designed for undergraduate and graduate students interested in current affairs regarding Macedonia and Southeast Europe. The Fellowship/Internship Program serves as an effective means to introduce and advance a future career in foreign policy, journalism, public relations, human rights, advocacy, government, or the nonprofit sector. If interested, or know of anyone interested in applying for the program, please click HERE.

“UMD’s Fellows are some of our strongest assets, and without them we would not be able to carry on the important work of our mission to address the interests and needs of Macedonians in Washington, D.C. and throughout the world,” said UMD President Metodija A. Koloski. “These young individuals are the future leaders in global affairs and UMD is investing in their professional development.”

Harrison B. Hull is a rising junior undergraduate at Wake Forest University majoring in Politics and International Affairs and English. He is a summer term student at the Washington Center enrolled in the International Affairs program and will be serving as a seasonal intern with the United Macedonian Diaspora. Harrison is a native of southwestern Pennsylvania and is eager to experience D.C. from the perspective of a non-profit advocate. He hopes that this internship will allow him to gain a greater insight into affairs in southeastern Europe with particular regards to the mission of the Macedonian people worldwide. He looks forward to advancing the cause of the Macedonian Diaspora and securing the procurement of civil, political and human rights for the greater Macedonian people.

Brenna Sovine was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. She just completed her first year of undergraduate studies at Austin Peay State University in Political Science with a minor in International Relations. While at school, she works for the Political Science Department office. It is her first time being in Washington, D.C., and she absolutely loves it thus far. Brenna hopes to live and work in D.C. upon completing her studies.
